Around 500 Australians were killed in the Vietnam war, and one of those just happened to be Mum and Dad's best friend. Sometimes I would come home and find Mum crying over it several decades later. The night before he was deployed, he'd asked to have a talk with her in private, but she was scared he was going to say he loved her, so she declined. She always regretted it. Given his headstrong personality, she knew he wasn't going to make it back alive. I think that's part of the reason she tried to apply to go over there as a volunteer herself, but my grandmother kept hiding the letters she'd get back from the government. Dad said that he and their male friends kept the gory details from the womenfolk, but apparently the guy was shot in the heart and his body left out in the open for several days before it was safe to retrieve. (With heat and rain, you can imagine the decomposition.)

His name was in the paper a day or two ago, along with a list of men in his platoon. It reminded me of my tiny midget of a mum sitting on the couch crying her eyes out, completley broken-hearted over something that had happened several decades before I was born.

This time of year always makes me a little herp derp.

AAAAAAAAAAAANYway I totally forgot to pay for my Masquerade Theatre OP >_> Hopefully BTSSB got my e-mail and will give me a couple of days grace ;_; At least I have my Meta Old Emblem LP, so that's pretty winrar. I'm kinda disappointed that no-one has started discounting winter coats yet. I don't think I can really hold out for the 5 weeks it would take to get one from random TaoBao dealers. I guess I'll just have to remain frigid.

Also, I need green tea liquor ;_;

There doesn't seem to be many coats on the brand sites at all. I was thinking of getting a black kidsyoyo coat this week since I'm freezing my ass off down here but its a bit meh looking D:

Yeah, qcute is the easiest. I worked out that shipping for 2 coats from there would be approx $65 which is pretty good compared to to everywhere else :D
