WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE ON DURING ASSIGNMENT WEEK?!!! I almost cried laughing in the first minute or so of that clip.

Also, about the Tracey Grimshaw incident. While I've not bothered watching the clip, I have seen the headlines on Fark- "Aussie Journo Gets Attacked by Ramsay - PM Demands Apology". FUCK YES. If there's one group of people that never, ever get insulted on a daily basis by the general public it's journalists! Lord knows ol' K. Diddy has never in his life said anything bad about newsmen and their ilk. Even Grimshaw, who's more of a "journalist", should never have to be subjected to such offensive behaviour. Can you imagine a world without the sort of investigative reporting she brings us every weeknight?

This video released yesterday seems to have everyone talking.

WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN. He's going to have to host the show like that for months @_@

(I promise the daily updates will stop when the assignments do.)

INTERNETS.

SWEET, BEAUTIFUL, FLUID-ENCRUSTED INTERNETS.

Oh God, four days is too long to go without a connection. I actually had to READ. You know... BOOKS. Not the ones I'm supposed to read for Uni of course, but strange slabs of paper nonetheless. At least now my computer can actually burn DVDs and doesn't take 3 minutes to boot up.

Random drabbles:

*It tickles me that my love for fake news programmes has coincided perfectly with my journalism degree. It's fun to hear your tutors bitch about 24 hour news channels and then come home and hear your favourite pseudo-pundits also tearing them to pieces. For once my hobbies are coming in useful.

*Speaking of which, after reading a newspaper properly in the first time since forever, it kills my boner to see how few pages are dedicated to world news. What the fuck, I don't care about the Broome quarterly dirt review.

*Calendars only work if you use them. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE THREE ASSIGNMENTS DUE IN A WEEK?!

*Heath asked to leave X-Japan but the management wouldn't allow it. The downward spiral continues.

*The first part of my journalism assignment only got a 5.5, but I consider the smiley face to be worth at least two extra points.

Listening to: A quaint little Christian rock band known as X-JAPAN.

Watching: Outtakes from The Colbert Report.

Number of days since I've worn a bra: 3.

You better believe I'm loving these holidays. Having successfully returned to my rotating sleep patterns (I woke up 6 hours ago :D), I intened to spend this sweet week blissfully ignorant of the trials and tribulations awaiting me in the second half of the semester. Learning is fun, assignments are not :(

NOSTALGIA BOMB- remember when Channel 10 was TV 0?

BONUS!

SQUEE, NEIL GAIMAN IS GONNA BE ON COLBERT NEXT WEEK! *bounces* Between that and Jon Stewart's recent pwning of Jim Cramer I'm very greatful for my broadband connection. Oh how I love those two. I still don't get why people like Colbert more than Stewart though ;_; Original and the best, babeh.

Thanks to the lovely Disa I am now wiser and poorer XD We headed out to DFO today and poked around at the bargain brand names. One particuarly freaky moment was when we strolled into a kitchenwares store and got Rickroll'd by the dodgey in-house radio. SO 2008. I ended up with a frilly little black dress thingy to wear to that journalism club shindig, which hopefully won't be too terrifying. Yes. Blonde reporter-wannabes placing their vaginas procariously close to aging professionals. I promised myself I'd stop being cynical... it ain't happening.

Also, I have applied to do some volunteer reporting for 4ZZZfm. They do training and everything so I'm really hopeful. Small time operation or not, experience is something I sorely need.

And now, back to studying Jon Stewart.
