Has anyone else seen the movie On the Beach? More specifically the 2000 made for TV remake. The computer graphics are laughably outdated, but it's a really interesting film about how China and the US have gone ahead and nuked each other, resulting in most of the Earth's populace being wiped out save for the populace of Melbourne. (Because you bastards just won't die, be it nukes or Swine Flu.) Of course the fallout is gradually making its way South and therein lies the appeal of the film- watching what happens in the last days of humanity. Maybe I'm just a sucker for unhappy endings, but if you get a chance to see it, it's well worth the watch. Depressing as hell but the locality of it really strikes a chord. You know, "Aussie values" being put to the test in a non-popularist fashion.
Hm. It would seem the more assignments I need to finish, the more I update this LJ.
