Yesterday comprised of [livejournal.com profile] 5hi_tenshi and [livejournal.com profile] baorin_lee wandering all over the city and most of Chapel St.

I pain for Dani's wallet. First on the agenda was wig shopping for her cosplays, on which she intends to spend quite a pretty penny on >.< That money can be better spent on... um... anything, dammit! Also had a brief look in Peril, which I haven't been to in months. I went to a couple of places I haven't been to in months yesterday. Kinda brings back memories...

Anyways. So we went to Alternate Worlds where I spent $65 I didn't have on manga. At first I was just going to buy the last isuue of Gravitation, but then I saw Yellow and Desire and felt I had a duty to buy them! *smacks self* Lord knows I'm going to look back and commit seppuku when I see some rarity for $50 in the traders hall at Manifest >.<

Soon after that, and wandering a helluva long way down Chapel St, we caught up with Byron. Apparently we'd walked from Windsor Station to South Yarra Station @_@ So the rest of the day was filled by looking for the Mary Janes that Dani was seeking, and heading over to the Crown complex where we bought lollie sticks. I also got this nice little hair clip that was most certainly not worth the $5 I paid for it... but it's pretty ^^

Come the end of the day, and after hob-nobbing with Aaron on the train back, poor Dani ended up losing her wallet at Croydon. Gah, don't I know how that feels >.< Luckily someone handed it in though, so now she can buy all those hardcore yaoi doujinshi I just know she's desperate for! (Or not...)

Believe it or not, this rant was brought by Hogan's Heros.

As some of my closer friends know, my father is a wannabe Nazi. He doesn't hate Jews or anything, but he absolutley, positivley IDOLISES Adolf Hitler, and has done so since well before I was born.

He keeps reffering to Germany as the master race and all this other bullshit. His side of the family is German, but for God's sake, he's something like third generation Australian, and it's not like his parents or his grandparents were into all that Nazi stuff. Not only that, but seeing as he was only born in 1943, he can't really make the most informed decision.

On his fridge he has pictures of the two people he says he values most- me and dear ol' Fuhrer -_- And of course he has numerous articles and books on the subject, including a book Hitler wrote on his vision. He goes on and on about what a wonderful man Hitler was, and has even taken up learning German to better understand the fellow. For heaven's sake, I knew how to say "Seig Heil" as a small child because of him >_>

I'm suprised I didn't end up being some sort of neo-nazi myself considering Dad's domineering influence. You can imagine how well his and my mother's father's discussions went, considering the latter served under the Australian flad in World War whatever. It goes without saying Dad's attitude towards Hitler left a rather bad taste in my grandfather's mouth.

It's also impossible to try and reason with Dad. If you bring up a good point or try to argue something seriously, he either talks over you or just goes on as though you hadn't said anything. It's one of the most frustrating things in the world. It's not that I don't love my Dad of course, and it's not that he's not a caring person (despite what he did to my mum -_-). It's just... annoying >_>
