I just came from a lecture where the professor had to explain what a walkman was to the class. I died a little inside.

Also, here's a direct quote from the lecturer of course I have to do instead of the Communication subject I loved: "I read two things when I wake up in the morning- my newspaper and my Bible." This was followed by quotes from the book of Mark and the showing of a clip about some Franciscan monks. Fuck yeah.

Yesterday Matt and I wandered around Chermside because we felt we weren't white trashy enough. We spent quote a while leafing through his copy of the QTAC guide and picking out the most useless degrees (in b4 people in glass houses), before finally resting on an Bachelor of Multimedia for Women. "HAVING TITS MEANS I ARE NOT COMPUTER GOOD. PLZ SUBSIDISE EDUMACATION MR. GUVMINT."

Sadly no toddlers falling over and crying in pain. That always makes me smile. Cheap drinks for students was worth it though.

Is Thursday a designated discount night for those of us who paw through books all day? (Or at least in the last 24 hours before an assignment's due.) I always see a buttload of cars outside the Normanby around that time of the week. Honestly, anything that offers relief from Australia's horrific taxes on alcohol is welcome. I can't believe they actually want to pass that alchopops tax through the Senate. This is possibly the one and only time I'll agree with anything Family First does (well, that and the carbon emissions bullshit they prevented from going through). I know people like Ruku-sama will be able to appreciate how expensive our grog is compared to other countries. No wonder everyone stocks up when they go overseas. I guess one way to take advantage of our hideously alcoholic culture is to make as much money as you can out of it.
