Today was... anime-ish!

After picking up some melon bread and chocolate pudding for our lunch, I met up with [livejournal.com profile] eviltom at Deakin. Well, more like, I wandered around Box Hill searching for the bus stop, which was on the roof, and hoped to heell I got off at the right stop. Thankfully I did. Unfortunatly though, I had no idea which entrance I was supposed to meet him at... and only had enough credit on my mobile for a single sms! (Guess I must've used up more credit than I though sending out those "Happy Jesus on a Stick" day messages >_<)

I managed to catch Tom-kun as his mum dropped him off. After the standard glomp, we wandered around trying to find out where the hell we were supposed to be. I think one of the reasons why it took so long is that there was hardly anyone there! Ran into Amy, who I haven't seen since Manifest, and gave her and her awsome hat a great big hug. Also befriended this Sweedish chick called Anna. She was insane like us, which is apparently far from the norm in her homeland. The three of us stood around and chatted (and bited). There was a snack table (woot!), and we decided to try our luck with, get this, CHILLI Tim-Tams! They were quite an experience. Not all that spicey, but you could still feel a tingle.

I alternated between the chatting girls and the gaming boys until the screening started. First up was "Fallen Leaves". ... My God. That anime makes Evangelion look so very, very sane, and also defines the "mindfuck" genre. Actually, most of the anime they screened was pretty mindfucky, sans Fumoffu. Tom and I got bored halfway through this anime about a giant tower and a plane, so we wandered around for quite a while. Somewhere along the line RocketJess arrived; I tried to be more subdued around the poor girl than I usuall am. I know she isn't exactly one for biting and kanchos!

Now remember how I said how few people were there? I'd pit the attendance around thirty. The thing was, when it was time for the pizza dinner to arrive... it just kept coming! Every time you thought they'd bought all the pizzas inside, tehre'd be three more people with their arms laden with greasy goodness! You see, they had to pre-order the pizzas before they knew how many attendees there would be. 30 people. 52 pizzas. It was quite an experience. Especially when they decided to turn the empty Dominos boxes into actual dominos, followed by a tower, which someone was videoed being pushed through. Oh well- at least we all got a whole pizza each! (Though I'm not sure anyone got through their's...)

Much to my disgust, I ended up becoming semi-emo halfway through the screening. Tom-kun asked me what was wrong several times, but as people like Mel-chan know only too well, it's pretty much impossible for me to turn my feelings and more emotional thoughts into speech. But by the end of the night, I didn't want to let him go.

After pizza, the place was split into two events- karaoke and games. Jess and I rushed off to teh karaoke comp, only to find that it wasn't anime tunes... just some songs on this PS2 karaoke game. We ended up screeching out "Pretty Woman", and got the best scores I saw! (I so totally beat her... by about two points ^^;)

After that I had to leave, so little emo Fri took her boyfriend's hand and wandered around in the dark looking for the busstop. The last bus went around 6, and it was... past 8. Shit. So I caught the tram to the city, which took almost twice the time it would by train. Better call Kit and tell her I'll be late... wait a second. No credit. Shit! By this time I was actually feeling ill and felt like crying, because of frustration with both myself and the trams. Thankfully there was a 7-11 in Flinders St, which I finally purchased some credit from and hopped a train back home.

So yeah.

I never want to see pizza ever again ^_~
