Today I photographed a buttfuck of places for Melbourne Cup (Brisbane Times internship this week!). A number of things happened and my feet are currently leaking puss. But aside from Stefan offering me a prawn, the most interesting part of my day was this:

>Doing some vox pops
>Ask people how they feel about interest rate hikes
>Find out they're trainers
>They won $30, 000 and buy me a drink so I'll stay while they tell me stories
>Fuck yeah, this is what life is all about!
>Aging foul-mouthed baby boomer asks to take picture with me
>Look down, his hand is hovering over my boob but I humour him (no actual contact)
>Turn to say something to him
>HE FULL ON PASHES ME ON THE LIPS

Now that said, there is a chance that there was no drunken debauchery involved and he was just trying to suck the youth out of me. At least Matt and I got a bit of a giggle out of it when recounting the tale.  (Take a moment to read one of my articles so my mouth-AIDS won't have been in vain!)

SIDE NOTE: Brisbane Times will run a story I pitched this week that is a little bit... frilly :D

In other news UQ vet clinic made elliot's family pay $1200+ to look after his dog after it got a paralysis tick, and then our other friend's dog was put under anaesthetic/left alone/vomited in mouth but cuoldn't open it/brain damage/dead. D:

Omg my housemates dog just had a tic yesterday too! He got looked after for 2 days and it was early enough that he was fine.
Suz, watch out for a hyperactive, panting, vomiting dog with dilated pupils, thats how we realised.

Oh no, which one was it? That would be scary. Though maybe the drugs have calmed him down a bit >_>

Piglet, the blackie. He's all shaved now and feels like a mouse, poor baby.

That's lucky, elliot's dog had had it for three days before it was taken.. :\

FUCKING SHITCOCK, that's awful :( I don't know where a student vet clinic gets off charging that much to look after an animal... is it okay now?

And the second case made me rage because one of my dogs died a while ago when it went into cardiac arrest while the vet was out to lunch. It's like, aren't there nurses there to keep an eye on seriously ill animals? I mean, it's kind of what you trust them to do.
