I know an ungodly amount of you on here are yaoi fans, so if you would like to contribute to my article, feel free to comment. The hook is that teenage girls can be labeled as pedophiles for uploading their drawings of underage characters in sexual situations (Naruto fandom anyone?) due to Australia's laws which dictate that drawn children = real children. Nevermind the fact that most of these girls are outcasts who are virgins. Child advocate groups say that such images normalise child sexualisation. What are your thoughts, in depth, on the subject? I've chatted with a few people from various organisations but I'd really like some input from people who are actually familiar with the fandom. You'll be credited.

Ugh, so sleepy. Matt and I went into the city last night for din-dins and a movie, only to find that all that was on was Sex and the City 2, Iron Man 2, etc. I hate movies that are made with the intention of a sequal ;_; So we just kind of bummed around and enjoyed being out of the house for more than a grocery trip. OH, and one of the shops in the Elizabeth Arcade is selling Paris Kids accessories! (Probably overpriced, the shop was closed.) Also bumped into a couple of peeps I know from around UQ, so that was pretty sweet. And of course there was PURIKURA

Kissy-kissy pictars omitted to save your stomach from inverting. Oh super-whitening effects, how you amuse me. Really gives that nice MASTER RACE effect.

On the upside, so are those people who cosplay L in day to day life.

It's BTSSB Sweet Room series. I just got it last week and felt the need to pop its cheery <3

The argument is that this porn normalises child exploitation and such. Which is amusing seeing that the perpetrators are kids themselves. Reminds me of the girl who was charged with CP for sending her boyfriend nekkid pics of herself.

I think that sexual images of children do indeed contribute to the sexualisation of children. I also believe that it's moronic to legislate that drawings of sexualised children are morally equivalent to the sexual abuse of actual children. But I do agree that sexual images of children contribute to a larger problem whether they involve the harm of real children or not. It's just a different kind of moral issue.

Just a quick note - Same thing applies in the UK AND in the US (I checked the laws in question in both, they're in the UK books as of about April this year, and a couple of months before that in the US federal law), so you can widen your net a bit, if you know anyone in any of them.

Basically, there is no requirement that the child in question needs to exist for the purposes of child pornography law in any of those three.

You probably knew that, but you don't need to limit yourself to Australia specifically. You'd have to be careful that you don't get anyone into trouble though.

Thanks! I was so glad when I got that dress off BTSSB for 40% off, though it happened around the time the dollar plummeted so... same difference.
