Living with a passive-aggressive housemate (who stole my money) has given me a certain contempt towards people who leave notes instead of confronting others.
Today there was a letter in the mail from one of the houses behind us telling us in no uncertain terms that he wants us to cut down the trees in our yard because they pose a fire hazard (despite the fact that there's only one overhanging branch and it's nowhere near them). I really would have preferred it if he had come over and spoken to me face to face so I could tell him just how many thousands of dollars it costs to have giant gum trees cut down and taken away, and also mention that I am on a student budget. It's a perfectly reasonable request, but the one-sided letter writing phenomenon makes it hard to talk about an issue and quite frankly I'd expect someone who calls themselves a neighbour to have the courtesy to drop in to talk about things as opposed to going to all the trouble of typing up a document. Maybe I'm just bitter. ... What do I mean maybe?
Anyway, totally not caring because I managed to sell one of my dresses for $180 and will use the profits to buy tonnes of Melbournian escort services this weekend.
ANNNNNNNND I finally got a new phone because my old one's screen no longer displayed anything sans a black hole. I gots me a pink Motorola V3 which means I'm finally up with 2007 trends! Now the most important thing- how should I deco the shit out of it?
