I'm thinking of having my birthday on the Saturday 2nd of May and maybe kicking things off a little bit early around 6pm so I can make it a dinner party (which will probably amount to a BBQ and making s'mores over an open flame). That way people can hit up the clubs afterwards if they wish. Does this fit well with people?

Secondly, I'm trying to decide which iPod I should buy.

iPod classic: 120gb holy fuck! I could fit every movie ever made on there, but the screen's kind of small and it has no bells and whistles.
iPod touch: HOLY SHIT THIS IS A TECHNOLOGICAL MARVEL! Wi-fi, bigger screen, games and all sorts of crazy stuff! I want it... but I can only afford the 8gb one. Which one should I get?

Sounds good

As an ipod classic owner, I would recommend it over touch. The iphone (same as touch pretty much) is really irritating for finger nails and unless you don't mind scratches over the things either one needs a skin, which is more difficult with a touch screen.
If you like flicking through pictures with your fingers, touch is probably for you, but other than that it doesn't have much function and click wheels are pretty cool too.

I would go with the touch, I have been wanting to upgrade from my 30gig video to the touch since it came out, it just looks sooo shiny and exciting

Dinner party sounds good to me. And I'm sure Stephen Colbert would tell you that an iPhone is the only thing you should really consider getting.
