First of all, my job as an animal lover (not in THAT way >_<) - Go here if you be in Melbourne .
Yesterday was good, as I was woken up with a message inviting me to meet Kit at Box Hill to go to the Anime Cafe. Caught up with Dani along the way, and us three had a look at the bodgy anime stores as she tried to find a birthday pressie for Byron, who we were supposed to meet there. After being talked to by some random druggo/hobo, we accidently hopped on an express train and ended up in Richmond >_> But eventually we arrived at Glenferrie. Wandered around a bit as B-kun was running late. The place is actually quite interesting. Lots of chocolate and undies stores.
The actual Anime Cafe is quite a gimmick. They play fansubs and have a mural of anime chicks, as well as some models and figurined on display. Jaq and Dani seemed to know the guy behind teh counter quite well, and eventually I got talking with him too. B-kun arrived a bit late, and later on Aaron and Rory rocked up as well. Aaron bought us a chocolate fusion fondue, where you dunk marshmallows and strawberries into melted chocolate/strawberry chocolate! Damn that was yummy ^_^ Dani and Jaq's "friend" Claire also turned up. Uh... oh well, at least she doesn't like me so I don't have to pretend to like her ^_^
We bugged the guy at the counter to put on something other than the rotating ep of Yakitate! Japan, and we got to watch the Utena movie. It didn't get our full attention, but what we did see was pretty damn trippy. I want to watch all of that series sometime! And the movie again!
We stayed at the cafe for several hours, and got back to Mitcham about 8, where we drove around a bit and got home at 9:30. Eh... Kit's dad was not at all happy with that >_> But thankfully he doesn't seem pissed off today. In fact, today was your run-of-the-mill "Sit back and watch anime whilst scoffing down Cheezles" kind of day. Gotta love days like that. Dammit, I really wanna see more of Azumanga >_> Sakaki is so gorgeous!
Oh, and I have officially finished job search training. Good to have it out of the way; I've gotta save my pennies, after all! (Screw you, public transport.) I still have to go in for an appointment on Wednesday though. Speaking of jobs, I'm gonna put in a resume at Anime Cafe on Monday. It's worth a shot!
Got a letter from Mum and Dad the other day. It contained a lollipop and $10, with a note saying "Get yourself an ice-cream or something." Teehee, gotta love Mum ^_^ Gah, I really miss them sometimes. Nowadays I get along with both my parents really well, especially since Mum is one of the few people I know that's more open-minded than me. I was such a terrible kid when I became a teenager, lashing out at everyone around me, especially Mum. That's one of those things I still beat myself up over, even though I know she's forgiven me. I really was horrible to her, and after all the shit Dad had put her through and her complete lack of friends, it must have felt like no-one really cared. *stabs teen self* Oh well, I should be visiting home before Manifest, so I'll be a loving and obediant daughter then ^^
And for some reason, I sorta kinda feel like drawing something.
