Yes, I know it's a bit early in the day for me to be typing away in my LJ, but this is just far too amusing to pass up.

I went to an interview for an admin interview today. The place printed rugby shirts and stuff, and I got to see a big-ass printing press and how everything's done which was pretty awsome. I think I flunked the test they gave me though- Excel and Access. One I have pitiful skills in, the other I've never even seen. Blah!

Anyway, so I had two people interviewing me; one was a bloke, the other was a woman who looked to be in her fifties. So you see, at one point during the interview, the old lady turns to me and says "Oh, you're the one who has Japanese animation on her resume!" Hm, a woman her age who knows what anime is. That's pretty good, right? THEN she whispers to me "You also mentioned something else... I know what you're talking about, and believe you me, it's not so niche! I like it too!"

Uh... huh? That confused me, so I just smiled and nodded until later on when I remembered something I put on my resume. "Organised simultaneous meet-up for fans of a niche genre of Japanese animation".

That's right. My old granny interviewer was a YAOI FANGIRL.

She approached me later on, and with this knowledge I managed to mutter about something or rather related to the topic. I was still kinda in shock. Had I not been I would have surley asked if she'd seen Gravitation! A little incentive, you know? "Give me a job and I'll give you a loan of some yummy manga!"
