Okay. Should probably start with the most important things first.
Sunday the 24th was the yaoi meetup. We had around ten people rock up, which was enough to have fun with. After sitting around in Fed Square (as the rain tried to decide whether to kill us or not), complete with crappily made "YAOI" sign, we flipped a coin to decide what to do and ended up at Minotaur. People blew their money there, and I was serverly tempted to buy Selfish Love. If only anime.au wasn't so close that I need to squeeze every penny >.<
After that we wandered up to QV for lunch, where we caught up with both
nekopan and
sora_ishida. The time was spent reading manga, flipping through stuff on my lap top, and just chatting and getting to know one another. We stayed there for a good while.
Next we decided to hit Alternate Worlds, which was where even more people spent their moola. *yanks YnM manga off Katie! ^_~*
The group dispersed around 5:30pm, Tom, Amber, Hannah and I leaching a lift back to the city in Katie's car. I think it went over quite well for a first-time thing. Next time we should have more things to do on the agenda, but it was still a good test run. I was also happy to see some randomly placed males present ^^
I haven't heard a great deal in regards to the Adelaide and Canberra meets, but have heard that the Sydney one was alright. Again, we really do need to plan some activities next time. At least we have a base though.
Erica and I left with Dan, who live way out past Lilydale. He drove me back here, and ended up crashing the night at Erica's. Driving through the Dandenongs made me want to go up to the top of the mountain even more, so I was pleased when Erica suggested that it be an idea for the next Eastern Suburbs meet ^_^ During the day the landscape would have been a mixture of dull greens and browns, but of a nighttime the trees looked cold and imposing. Tall black silhouettes against a navy sky... I loved the way they looked of a nighttime.
Anyways. the day before that I caught up with Brad, Vanessa, Hannah, Chosis and Kyle in the city. We just bummed around and checked out fetish shops in one of those dodgy suburbs near the city. (Though one shop did have great glasses for my hide cosplay... if only I wern't so strained for cash at the moment!)
Today
5hi_tenshi and I journied out to Richmond in search of some orange PVC for aforementioned hide cosplay. I'd taken the phone numbers she'd given me of about twelve gazillion fabric stores around the city and had called all of them. Only this shop sold the much-needed PVC... and it was $16 a metre >.< Spotlight has every other colour for $11. We were so fucking peeved. So we just went back to Box Hill and purchased some orange satin. It'll do.
And children beware, for tomorrow the top of my hair will be going pink...
