St Kilda Hoes?
Feb. 13th, 2005 11:18 pmAnother fun day today!
It was the St. Kilda Festival at... well, St. Kilda. Jackie and I caught a train into the city, and managed to meet
eviltom along the ride. NYAH! I finally got to meet him! XD He's pretty awsome to hang out with. We were all going through the Enzai pics (a very graphic yaoi game) on my laptop, and apparently the girls sitting behind us were totally blushing at what was on screen. I so wish I'd realized that; I would have asked them to join us ^_~
After getting into the city and transferring over to a very crowded tram (had to hang on for dear life to either the handles or Tom), we made it to what has been described to me as hooker central; St Kilda. Of course being the Queensland "Gaijin" I was wrapped up in my coat in the 23 degree cold. There were so many people there; no wonder they had to close some of the roads off. There were street performers (including one rather annoying American doing things with poles), markets selling cheap jewelry at expensive prices and hippie clothes, and rather pricey looking rides. Actually, it was like a miniture Ekka/Royal Show.
After wandering around for a while we managed to catch up with Byron. I didn't know there was a Luna Park of that size in Melbourne O_o Now I wanna go! We sat around playing with cameras for a while before having a look at the many stalls. Not much to look at, but I had fair floss on a stick for the first time in years ^_^ Though we were having quite a bit of trouble keeping it under control. The wind could have blown it away at any second O_o After that we posed for a photo with a guy dressed in a Nudie suit (Nuide being a funky smoothy in a bottle). It was an awsome pic- the group of us glomping him, feeding him fairy floss, and attempting a kancho. However, when I was moving the files to my desktop, it disappeared! TT___TT The best pic of teh day... gone forever TT___TT
Well, at any rate, the three of us excluding Tom had a go at that thingy where you hit a target with a big-ass hammar and the light goes up. Jack and I didn't do too well, but Byron managed to make the bell go off! He's a big strong man bloke! However, regardless of our results, we all got crappy plushies that looked like they were made in some third world country. Jack got a yellow dog she named Piss, I won a hippo I named Harry the Heterosexual Hippo, and Byron won a horse or soemthing that looked like it was on speed. Harry ended up jumping off a wall and dying after the three meter drop to the beach.
After stuffing around for a while- Jack and I started a waterfight with Tom which resulted in him getting a wet crotch and me having a wet back all day (Tom makes everyone wet!)- we caught up with
nekopan and her friend. As usual, AKabane plush and hide plush were going at it like rabbits. And Tom and nekopan/Hannah weren't far off either. I'll leave that one to your imaginations ^_~ (Otherwise known as "When Tackle Glomps Go Wrong".)
We strolled around the beachside markets, avoiding the blaring music from the live bands, whilst quoting Team America and Kung Pow; the greatest films of all time. Actually, we did a whole lot of wandering.
After getting our butts back on the tram (well not really- we were standing again), and after an old man decided to put his arm on my chest as he got out (I feel SEXAH!), peeps introduced me to two very fun places: Alternate Worlds and Charley Weaver. The latter was a goth shop, at which I picked up an awswome new shirt. It's black and purple with a cross on it. (I need more clothes anyway- I can't believe I packed so many nighties and so little outfits!) *sigh* Was so nice to have a new place to look at after being stuck with but one goth shop in QLD. The former was a comic book store. They sell YAOI! I picked up issue one of Passion. Dammit, it's been so long since I've gotten something other than the 5 series I've been collecting over the months!
That done, we headed into another part of the city where we induldged in bukka- I mean, pearl tea, and caught up with Tai. After a bit more wandering around, we bid farewell to Byron, soon followed by Hannah. It was just Jack surrounded by three yaoi fans; I'm surprised she made it out alive!
Anyway, despite my sunburn (my hands are sunburnty... I didn't know that was possible! ANd I swear my eyeballs got sunburnt too.), it was a really fun day. Tom's an awsome guy with my twisted sense of humour, and it's always great to see Hannah. Byron I'm still getting to know, but he's a really nice guy (and somewhat cute ^.^).
Tomorrow I'm catching up with Tai and Tom again to check out Box Hill; get this, they have OFFICIAL J-pop CD's out there! I'm so increadibly looking foward to it! I'm also buying some sake for myself and Jackie (and whoever else wants some) to share, for I have gotten it into my head that we need to play an anime drinking game. Probably from all that talk about a Weiss drinking game from
sora_ishida ^_~
Have some pics of the events-

I'm having so much fun, and I seem to be fitting in quite well; there's so many people I can relate to here, it's awsome ^_^
