I have arrived.
Feb. 12th, 2005 02:25 pmWell now! It certainly has been an interesting 24 hours.
Unfortunatly my last moments in Brisbane were very rushed. I'm so pissed off at myself for that; I guess I didn't realize some things would take as long as they did, including the yukata that Mel was working on so freverently for me. I could just kick myself for not getting things done more efficently and then have had time to spend with my loved ones. Adam and Mel came to the airport with me and my parents. Adam gave me some shot glasses he thought may come in handy. Let's hope so.
After saying goodbye to those I care about most in this world, I attempted to settle into a rather bumpy plane ride. It appears I've developed a fear of flying, and the turbulance didn't help. I tried to sleep but was too paranoid. That and I was feeling somewhat ill and sad from leaving my friends and family. Again, I spent the entrie plane flight mourning my use of time back home.
I started to feel better, however, when I got off the plane and there was a group of people holding a sign that read "Welcome yaoi hime!" ^_^ It was definatly most awsome to catch up with the Manifestees. They're all so friendly and insane XD After mingling for a while over Pocky, we picked up my luggage and waited around for Katie-chan. During this time period, there was a lot of plushie love happening- I think my hide plushie and Han-chan's adorable little Akabane plushie may have found love in eachother's embrace O_o A dead guy and a guy who likes to kill- it's a match made in... well, some kind of afterlife. Oh! And Angeli-chan also made an awsome welcome poster with two pretty bishies on it! I can't wait to put them both on my walls when I get a flat. And I don't think I've ever recieved such a glomp as the one Katie-chan gave me when she arrived- I was sitting innocently on my suitcase, probably making lewd gestures with plushies, when I'm suddenly knocked onto my back by the flying Bombay! Bwahaha! Despite the braindamage, it was great to see her again. THe Weiss group, reunited at last XD
I do believe it was Eikichi's car that was about to get towed as we left the airport. Apparently she parked in a reserved zone, and there was a security guy there and a tow truck coming around the corner O.o Thankfully she did manage to avoid getting towed, though I think she might've copped a ticket. Damn parking regulations >.< Katie gave Yoshii and I a lift back to Kitsune's place which, as it turns out, is quite a fair way from the airport. It took about an hour and a half to get back here (Weiss music blasting all the way of course!), but it prooved a good opportunity to do some catching up. After dumping my stuff here and doing a bit of socializing over sandwiches, we headed into the city to meet other people at Federation Square. We were an hour late ^^; Though I swear, it's going to take me a while to get used to the sun still being out at 8pm. So THAT'S why QLD ditched daylight savings O.o
I was stoked to see Sefie-chan again (she's always such a sweety!), and managed to relate to Cali-chan pretty well. Bwahaha, I'm so holding her to her offer of taking Hannah and I goth shopping ^.^ There were about twelve in the group, and we headed over to the Crown Casino. (Why? Well I'll give you a hint- it has DDR.) The Yarra river is... well, it gives me a new appreciation of the Brisbane River. I do believe it was Katie-chan who commented taht it was a reverse river, with all the sediments on top rather than beneath O_o
Outside the crown were some awsome Chinese markets for the Chinese New Year. Beautiful red lanterns were strewn about the place, and there were all sorts of exotic foods and crafts. I wanted to get my face painted, but it was so crowded! After fighting our way through the crowds (I saw some interesting flavoured ice-creams in the lower foodcourt- tofu flavoured? The sesame seed one sounds alright, but I don't dare go near the pumkin and corn flavoured one. You read correctly.), we got some din-din, continued to play with plushies (who were in various people's cars during our convoy from the airport), and socialized some more. >_> I must play with Chosis' hair! It's so awsome!
After that peeps headed down to the arcade to play DDR, and I was once again reminded why I should never attempt to play that game in public. *apologises to Sefie for failing in the second stage >.<* Did a bit of car racing with Cali, but that's about it games-wise. Eikichi (weilding Rach's Kumagorou plush), Katie and I (hide in hand) did a bit of wandering around in the Chinese markets. Someone performed Happy Birthday To You for a public karaoke contest, and there was this cool fire show thingy. AFter we returned, some of the boys and I walked Katie back to her car in Fed Square, and she dropped us back near the casino. Ack, I hope the poor girl didn't use up too much petrol yesterday!! *falls over*
Soon after that the group left, and Sorrell gave Shi-chan, Eiki-chan, Kitsune-chan and of course myself a lift back to the homestead. We had the llama song playing full blast in the car ^_^ *is still surprised peeps managed to squeeze in the back seat* We went past some stores I desperatley wanna check out- a Japanese shop and Japan Book Plaza. *needs to aquaint herself with all the Jappy/anime stores down here; should probably do that sooner rather than later so I can send Mel-chan something shiney*
But yeah. Got back here, chatted for a bit, said goodbye to peeps as it started raining (apparently everything I've heard about Melb's weather patterns is true according to Sefie ^^;), and bummed around for a while before I decided to have a bit of an early night. And can I just say Kit has a freaking awsome house; it's so big, and I have my own room full of anime posters! Not to mention my own computer, which is where I'm typing from now. ... She has BROADBAND ^____^
