"Come fly with me..."
Jan. 29th, 2005 02:55 amOkay! Well that's one of my tasks out of the way; today I purchased a one-way ticket to Melbourne ^_^ Gawd, I can't believe some of the prices. I know Fridays are expensive, especially in the afternoon (lotsa businessmen travelling interstate for the weekend), but it still amuses me that it cost over $200 to arrive at 4 o'clock and $139 to arrive at 3:30.
And I used Eftpos for the first time! Yes, I'm a late bloomer. But damn it was convenient- if I had any less self control I would've been using the damn bankcard to just walk into random shop and buy cosplay supplies for the rest of the year >_>
Speaking of which... Hah. I almost paid around $900 for an ex-government laptop today. Yes I'm an idiot, but at the time my patience was wearing thin and I just wanted to buy one and get it over and done with. So yeah. I think I'll bug Macius-kun and Mel's dad to point me in the direction of some good deals/stores.
...
I am NOT buying something with a 25mb RAM >.<
Actually, it's kinda weird now that the wheels are kinda in motion. For so long this trip seemed like one of those distant dreams that never come to pass. Now I have a plane ticket. I guess nervousness is also starting to kick in. The glasses I view Melborune through are no doubt a tad rose-tinted, and obviously it's not going to be fun and games all the time... but any fears I may have are kinda brushed aside when I start thinking about what it would be like to live in Brisbane my whole entire life O.o
Screw patriotism!
