Today was pure shit. I am not happy. Not at all.

Okay, so let's not over-dramatise this... being stuck lugging appx. 25 kilos of luggage 1km is an amusing holiday story, I guess. And so is having a stranger look you up and down several times and then FOLLOWING YOU AS YOU WALK AROUND IN CIRCLES until you manage to lose him in a crowd... I'm sure that'll be hillarious in a few months.

I'm just not in a very good mood today. Tokyo is very, very overwhelming. Osaka was great! I was kind of lacking in the map department, so I spent countless hours trying to figure out where I was. It took me an hour to find my hotel thanks to a horrible, horrible map. (Guess who used a vending machine as a landmark?)

Staying in a Capsule Hotel is something everyone has to do before they die. It's like being in a cosy little coffin equipped with pay-per-view.

Japanese toilets are everything they say they are and more. So much more. Stupid in-built water-squirty-rapey-thing... it gave me the fright of my life, causing me to jump, causing FREAKING HOT water to spray everywhere :( It buuuuuuuurns.

I spent most of my time roaming around Shinsaibashi and Namba (I thought about hopping on a train elsewhere but the shopping kept me there). The FREAKING MASSIVE kilometer-long shopping arcade was sweet. They had some Antenna boots I really wish I'd bought :/ (I got some kickass MaryJanes instead XD)

Whoever the bastard was who decided to put my hotel in the middle of Osaka's EGL shopping district must be castrated with a meat hook. I spent a quater of my money in one day :( I'd already picked up some funky (non-loli) streetwear when BAM! BTSSB appears one block from my hotel. The girls wern't very friendly (unlike the awesome ladies at Kera shop who won my heart... we talked about various crap in our respective bastardised Japlish/Engrish and they gave me a free wallet and hula dance o.o). Oh well, I still blew an ungodly amount of money there.

METEMORPHOSE WAS TEH PHAIL!!! The girls were scary and the shop was tiny and you couldn't escape their murderous gaze... *hides*

Eh, all of this probably doesn't mean an awful lot... um... you guys wanna know about Akihabara? You can't see the stars in the sky because the lights are so bright. "Cruel Angel's Thesis" was blaring from various shops. There's a multi-level complex specialising in maids outfits and the like. That's as far as I was game to wander from the trainstation of a night time.

I attempted to navigate Tokyo but barely got outside the station. I want to be out exploring instead of wasting time in a hotel... I'm normally more adventurous than this :/ It's just... really scary... and I don't wanna go out and be lost for 3 hours again... not of a night :(

Glad to hear you found your way to America Mura :3 I know what you mean about the brand-bitches too. If you thought the CUSTOMERS were bad (and they are), the staff are the worst... and they're SUPPOSED to suck up to you! But every time I go into BTSSB, AP, meta etc on shopping orders, I get horrible glares from all therein which translate to 'that is not lolita!'. The outrage. The 'gothic' brands like BPN and H.Naoto are just as bad, except that I'm often dressed in black so am at least semi-acceptable in their books. I go to the open-plan any-brand stores where they're not so up themselves XD

Explore Tokyo! The main line (city loop) is the yamanote, which is grass green. It'll take you to all the cool places and is easy to navigate. Any time you get lost, just ask 'eki wa...?' and someone will point you there. Either that or just walk. In Tokyo, you're never more than 10 minutes from a train station.

Oh bum, you mean they're all like that? I thought it was going to be pretty hit and miss... GAH. And the shops are so tiny that you have no choice but to stand right under their noses >_>

I'm kind of dreading checking out Ueno Park on Sunday... I wanna wear my new outfit but I've heard horrible things about Jap lolis, and given that I'm the size of like 10 of them... maybe I should just stick to the standard goth look I normally do -.-

Um, I've been on the Yamanote line but I'm still not quite sure how to see stuff... is the whole point just to wander around aimlessly until you bump into something cool? Because I proved quite talented in that department during the whole Osaka thing (which, might I add, is filled with the scent of burnt miso and ass).

Yeah, all the BRAND-store staff think they're gods because they get to wear BRAND every day and bless the lesser lolitas with the gift of BRAND. I quite often get my 'irasshaimase!' with a nasty sneer. There are a couple of stores with polite and helpful staff, but they tend to be the lesser brands that are still trying to earn customer loyalty.

Go ahead and wear your outfit, it's totally acceptable. Even though the lolitas are total snobs, the Japanese public at large doesn't judge the appearance of gaijin. You can get away with wearing damn near anything here if you're a tourist. You're already 'foreign', so nothing you can wear can make you any weirder in Japanese eyes.

Wandering around getting lost is the best way to find cool things in Japan. Seriously, don't be concerned about staying oriented, because it's impossible. But you'd be surprised how easy it is to find stations again. So give yourself a few hours, let yourself wander and explore, then when you're ready to head home, just start looking for a station as mentioned in the previous comment. The stations in the Tokyo central area are so close together, you can walk between most of them in 15 minutes.

They always look as though you`re breaking their little hearts by taking their precious doll clothes.

B-b-but apparently Jap lolis are uber-critical of Western ones... even if they kind of stole the style in the first place... gah.

Oh man, I got lost in Ginza today, that place has a multi-level toystore and hardly any kids were in it... LOL OLD HAGS WITH HELLO KITTY OBSESSIONS

Just remember who you are, Fri-chan, and stand up to those glarey bitches! I get that in Sydney from those people in Jap stores and as long as I have Callan with me it just doesn't matter. I can stare back at them and they always look away first. So do that or say something obscene to them!

Have fun, most of all. Don't worry about anything while you're there because you'll regret it afterwards like I did :D

Oh Jesus Christ your avatar made me lol. Goddamn that Frenchie demon spawn.

Ugh, I'm just glad that there's so many shops that you don't have to confront said bitches more than once.
