Opinions are like assholes; everyone has one and they all stink.

Lawl, Chaser. Singing songs mocking the dead is never a good idea, but hey, people love to be offended. Despite all the horrified comments from various politicians and the general public, one has to remember that most Australians loathed Steve Irwin when he was alive, him being the stereotypical Paul Hogan type who makes us look like a bunch of backward rednecks to the the rest of the world.

Stan Zemanek was quite possibly the most unappealing bottom-feeder ever to hit the airwaves, oozing with sexism and racism, all wrapped up in one big obnoxious ego. Good riddance.

Princess Di? Oh come on, women inparticular just LOVED to pick her apart when she was residing above ground. Nowadays when someone dare mentions the fact that she was actually lacking in intelligence and common sense the same people who bitched about the blonde bimbo rush to defened her.

My favourite allegations are "Oh noes, think about how da families must feel after hearin ppl speak shit on their fallen brothers!", as though someone in the public spotlight shouldn't be talked about as anything other than a saint when they've started pushing up daisies. If we're not allowed to discuss things out of respect for the dead we may as well be back in the dark ages.

I'm gonna go massacre a few thousand people with the firm  belief that the more I fuck up in life, the more I'll be worshipped when I get hit by a bus.

LAWL.

Yeah, you'd think it would have gotten old after 10 years, but no. All people have to do is mention her name to sell an assload of magazines.

And it's especially funny because their first piece on the boys was all "OMG THE CHASER ARE SO FUNNI I WONDER IF THEY'RE COMING OVER TO COMMERCIAL NETWORKS!?"

I laughed so hard at the line about Zemanek: "A fatso xenophobic cock, whose view were more malignant than his brain~" And he bloody deserved it too, the prick!

To quote Drawn Together, those fags flip-flop more than the footwear of the same name.

I remember a piece that had a couple of weeks ago mourning the fact that Golden Circle was in such dire straits that they might end up being bought out by an American company. A few days later they reported that Golden Circle had been SAVED by an American company and that this was the start of a new beginning.

Lawl.

I'm sure you'd love it too if people started slandering your mother.

In any case, I thought Steve Irwin was a dickhead at times but I honestly loved the man for what he did for Aussie critter awareness.

Don't know Stan Zemanek. And I didn't know Princess Di until it happened. So I won't say good or bad things about either.

If I didn't like a person in life, I'm not going to turn them into saints when they pass on but at the same token I'd never wish anyone dead or be glad that they're dead (except perhaps the President of N*OVA and that's only because I STILL haven't been paid. ;P )

My mother wasn't in the public eye, so there's not much chance of that happening on the scale we're talking about ^_^

Steve Irwin lived how he died; with animals in his heart <3

So if someone's in the public eye, it makes everything different? Celebrities ARE people too, regardless of the height of the godly pedestal they've been put on. Guess that's one of the things I've truly learned in Japan because all Japanese celebrities really are people you could just meet down the street and I'd view their passings on no different than I would those of someone I knew without celebrity status.

BTW I really hope that pun was not intended. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt now. Please don't tell me otherwise.

Fun fact: The more people who know a person, the more that person gets talked about. And if they do so happen to be placed on a pedestal like Irwin, then the populace will happily talk about how he taught us about conservation, the environment and HOW TO AGGITATE WILD ANIMALS BY JABBING THEM WITH STICKS.

(And this is just my personal opinion, but Bindi deserves to be raped to death by the nearest croc. God that creature's annoying.)
