Hm. It would appear I have two new orifices. Yesterday I clung to a very patient [livejournal.com profile] 5hi_tenshi for dear life in a dodgey little chemist. It's been going on ten years since I last had my ears pierced, and I can still vividly remember the screaming -.-; However, this time proved to be much less painful than my ailing memory served. And the little sliver studs will be just about ready to take out in time for AVCon, so joy!

Also, I've managed to get some cosplay materials. I need to create a big-ass wing (with help from a certain Manifest technogeek), and was wondering if anyone knew what I could use instead of feathers. I was thinking of cutting out hundreds of cardboard feathers, but like most of my cosplays, that sounds a smidgen dodgey ^^;

I reacon she should leave them in.. if their only studs then it shouldnt matter at all. >.> And they say 6 weeks.. but it's always best to leave them in for a few weeks longer than that. specially ear ones (depending on where it's done) I mean I've had my nose studd in since... late march? but I had a lil mishap with the first stud that was in and had to get it replaced, so I had to start the healing process all over again. And this is after the first initial 6 weeks. >.< I would say my 6 weeks are up.. but I still am keeping it in for a month more or so... Although I'm pretty sure it's all healed and stuff, it still a tad itchy from time to time. So yeah!

Cosplaying with studds... even new pericings... I don't see why anyone should make a big fuss, just say that you've just had them done and nuff said.

Fri said she would be able to take them out around AV-CON and I was saying no because that isn't after the 6 weeks are over...

Why dont you just leave the studs in?

I'm leaving my nose piercing in (secondly cause it's a bitch to take out and get back in otherwise) And dont ya think Yuugi would look hot with his nose pierced? XD

I've gotten only one thing made for my costume.. the fuckin collar x.x

Thats IT!!!

I've seen some pretty nifty wings with triangles of duct tape instead of feathers. They were all shiny and futuristic-looking. Plus... IT'S DUCT TAPE WHAT MORE YOU ASK FOR XD

Mini tutorial
1. Draw your wing shape and cut it out of some cardboard. I used a fruit snacks box. Don't forget to cut out a piece to connect them.

2. Cover the wings with duct tape, and attack the connector piece. Make sure it'll look good on your doll of course.

3. This is the trickier part. Cut a small piece of duct tape, then cut it in half. You're left with a little square of duct tape. Fold that in half but leave space at the top. Cut away one of the sides at the top so you're left with a little duct tape rectangle with a sticky flap at the top. That's what you'll use to put it on the wing. Then cut the bottom edge so it looks like a V. Stick that to your wing.

4. Repeat a zillion times until you're done. In the meantime say goodbye to your fingerprints, they are now part of your wings.

5. Get some clear elastic and using duct tape, secure it to the wings. make sure it'll fit your doll of course, but if it doesn't you can always do it over. You can make the straps out of duct tape but this way you won't see the elastic as well. I got my clear elastic at Walmart.

Oh my goodness! That is indeed quite a creative (and spikey) tutorial XD Thanks very much for posting that *tackleglomps*. I see what you meant about the whole futuristic look it has to it. For some reason I can see some Gundam cosplayers stealing this idea ^^;
