Work rant

Well shitcock.

Myself and two other co-workers have been asked to attened a meeting today (meaning I have to drive all the way out to that goddamn Homemaker Centre for naught but an hour of bitching, RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE).

Apparently we were rude to the owner when she came in for a visit. I had just gotten back from the tea room out back after a half hour break when the 2IC nervously informed me that there was someone poking around the storeroom and asked what we should do. I went over to the person and said "Excuse me, you're not supposed to be in here," to which I recieved the reply "It's okay, I'm the owner". I apologised, introduced myself and we shook hands. This was followed by me helping her to her car with a heavy rug she'd purchased.

Yes, I am a rude bitch who deserves a hot poker in every orifice.

However, I think the main thing we're getting in trouble for is the fact that she chewed our manager out for being left to wander around the shop for twenty minutes without someone offering her assistance, something which doesn't apply to me as I was on my lunch break out back (and I had informed my co-workers to just yell out if it got busy so I could come and help).

This coupled with the fact that last night's Christmas party sucked balls does not make me a happy camper. (Free basic spirits is awesome, old ladies talking about their crotchspawn all night is not.)

And so I lay bleeding on the battlefield that is office politics.

Apparently the owner who labelled my co-worker and I as rude launched an official complaint and I am now out of a job. My co-worker dodged the bullet because, amusingly enough, she had been there a shorter time than me and so less was expected of her. Unfortunatly due to the fact that we haven't been meeting our budget for the last year or so, we were being watched intently and in this case it was our word against her's.

My manager had fought for me but yeah, the powers that be dictated my fate. I'm not sure what to think, though it still feels as though there is a blender in my belly. Given that all the time I spent at Loot had a heavy impact on my studies - my exam on Friday went horribly by the way - it would have been preferable for them to have let me go a few weeks earlier. Then again, I enjoy having money far too much to be burdened with unemployment (yet again).

Now I have to decide whether to find a new job straight away or do an intensive summer semester at Uni. My tummy feels funny :(
