Hospital >_
May. 11th, 2008 08:52 amSo on Friday and Saturday I got to experience my first hospital stay since I was 2 (fly bait was a tasty snack at that age, you see).
I collapsed and had to be admitted. It was NOT fun; I couldn't sleep well because people kept coming in and doing tests on me every hour and I had to keep my arm uncomfortably straight for the drip (every time I bent my arm the damn machine alarms sounded -.-; ) and there was NOTHING to do except watch the clock. Not to mention the fact that I was fucking terrified and all alone. Of course being surrounded by beeping machines with doctors running everywhere brought back many unwanted memories >_> My heart was FAST LIKE WOAH, I had a massive temperature and was shaking like a leaf. I'm still a little shakey. It's very annoying. (I kept looking at the drip and thinking of X-Japan's "I.V."... that made the whole situation slightly more romantic.)
It was kind of cool being taken from the emergency ward to a room in a wheelchair though.
At one point alarm bells rung out and doctors were running past my room. A distraught woman was being led away in tears. When my doctor came in I asked if the person in that room was okay and he said "yes". This would have been more convincing had I not heard the receptionist on the phone asking for two morticians to come and help out. :(
Apparantly I'm "critically low" in various things like iron and phosphorous. They really wanted to keep me in for another 48 hours to try and fix the problem but there was no way in hell I would agree to that >_< I'm seeing my GP on Monday to get everything sorted out. *is currently feeling weak as hell with the constant needt o stretch her limbs*
Seriously, I don't know how anyone can stay in a hospital for more than a day and maintain their sanity. They're not nearly as sexy as pr0n makes them out to be :(
