Feb. 9th, 2007 12:47 amAw man.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments/sms's. I feel like a dick not replying to stuff, but do know that I appreciate each and every comment left on this pitiful excuse for a journal, and every sms recieved on my craptastic phone. It's increadibly important to me, especially considering how... erratic things have been. *warm hugs to her Mani and AI-Con darlings, and everyone else kind enough to respond*
I *almost* didn't cry today, until I saw Mum's wedding ring (brain's defence mechanisms are a wonderful thing). Then I fucking bawled my eyes out. I have to make the heartwrenching descision of whether I want to give it back to her or hang onto it. Apparently it's commonplace for wedding rings to be passed on from one generation to the next, and seeing as she not once took it off I consider it to be a part of her, and I do wish I could hang onto it. But on the other hand, it's her's, not mine. She was a bit upset when they were considering cutting it off for surgery (it's damn tight!)... Earlier I was very defiant that she take it with her to eternity, but looking at it... it's like I'm looking at her.
Fuck, now I'm crying again. I don't know how I'm going to be able to make this desicion by tomorrow, so any input would be kinda appreciated. I think my gut says to give it back... blah.

The funeral's 2pm Monday, and I've been put in charge of choosing four songs for the event.
1. (to be played as people are walking in) "Lola" by the Kinks.
This may seem a bit odd, but I reckon Mum'd get a real kick of it. She used to love it when she was a teenager and found it amusing how her Dad enjoyed the song without being able to pick up on its true meaning ^^;
2. (the main, reflective piece to be played as people are recieving communion) "Crying" by Roy Orbison.
Oh God. I'm not sure if this one was a good choice because it's so damn sad, but Roy Orbison was Mum's favourite singer and she enjoyed this song. Plus "Crying" kept playing over and over in my head the day after she died, before I even realised it was by her fave artist.
3. (to be played as people are exiting) "Love Story" by some guy.
Her and Dad's "our song".
4. (to be played when we get to the cemetary) "If We Hold On Together" from The Land Before Time
This song was mine and her's. We both adored the movie, and often times she'd go around singing that song. I remember getting irritated over her never being able to get the right lyrics :/
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to end this post before I become a blubbering mess.
