Well, the Manifest forums have officially gone to hell in a handbasket.

I know this might end up being a somewhat controversial post, and I know there are people who disagree and that of course there are other forums on the Internet where people can move to if they don't like it on the Maniforums, but I believe the new rules which are going to be enforced
with an iron fist
are just taking things way too far.

Right now I'm so pissed off I can't even go re-read the new format so I can rant about it properly. And before anyone suggests it, no, this has nothing to do with the fact that I just found out I've been dropped as mod on the Yaoi/Yuri forum, though that does of course irk me. What I can't tolerate is the fact that these forums are no longer for the people, by the people. That's what I used to respect Manifest so highly for, and the opposite is why I came to loathe Animania.

There is one pig-headed induvidual on that committee that always has to argue about everything and have a stick so far up her arse about everything that I almost feel as though I'd have to be physically restrained from doing something I'd regret next the next time we cross paths. I like to think I'm above such petty things and have more control over myself than that, but this is REALLY pushing my tolerance limit.

Execs can kiss my ass. Seriously. Like I said in the committee area, I don't care of you know the forum rules inside-out and have the ability to enforce them. Unless you have a well-rounded knowledge of the forum environment and the kinds of people that frequent it, you cannot make descisions on how to cater to its audience.

Ugh, this is making me so pissed off I can't even think straight. Perhaps it's making too much of something that's just a tiny piece of cyberspace, but it's a place where people with a common interest congregate and meet in real life. It's a place where people make friends and talk about the con, and tehre's no need for it to become such a huge issue. Manifest is becoming exceedingly tight-assed. I mean hell, who else would get so worked up about another con having a friendly laugh about other cons in Australia that they had to put it on an agenda for their next meeting?
