Well, the powercord for my lappy packed it in, so I'm currently updating from the laptop [livejournal.com profile] kitsunesakurano kindly lent me. You know that last post where I was bitching about having nothing to do but go online? Imagine how it's been having nothing to do with no computer in sight. I've literally been sleeping days away and staring at a wall. Jaq found me with stickers on my eyelids and hairdye I'd used for lipstick and remarked "You're not to be left in a room without a computer ever again!" The woman has a point.

ANYWAYS. I'm going to go in reverse chronological order of what's been going on latley.

Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] kitsunesakurano, [livejournal.com profile] 5hi_tenshi and myself went into the city to see [livejournal.com profile] soreru presenting. We had lunch in the dodgey Japanese place Dani and I'd been to with OzTAKU and the service was shit, but now I could really go another okonomiyaki. Also, the inside of their Gyoza was green. >.> And then, mid-meal, the radio blared out the announcement "The man who coined the term "I'm excited!", Big Kev, has died from a heart attack at the age of 56". Man, we lol'd so hard. It *is* pretty funny.

Anyways, onto the more important part of the night! Hamish joined us and we went up to RMIT so Sorrell could give a speech about his thesis project for this state-wide competition. There were lots of weird techie gizmos and gadgets (the camera that followed the colour green was amusing to watch), and of course a whole lotta jargon that went over us laymen's heads. Sorrell did pretty well with his presentation; no nosebleeds, huzzah! Actually, he went VERY well with his presentation seeing as he managed to kick everyone else's ass and take out the title! Now he has a shiney medallion, a cash prize, some membership thingy and a trip to Sydney for the national finals next year. Thou doest pwn!

Celebrations were had a Robot Sushi, where Brad and a couple of his mates decided to join us, before we hopped on a train and I waved farewell at Camberwell. ... It was raining. A lot. By the time I got home, my clothes and hair were dripping. I didn't even get the satisfaction of shaking all the droplets off onto Rory TT____TT

Alright. Over the weekend there was the bigass birthday meetup and the Manifest AGM. I stayed over Kit's on Friday and we went in early the next day to poke around the birthday bash at Fed Square and give out presents (in my case, the rumballs Kit helped me make) before fulfilling our sacred MoC duty and heading up to the AGM. Kit got Volunteers Wrangler, so many congrats to her (though I suspect she only wanted the position so she could order around cute asian boys to do her every bidding). And Mark's no longer webmaster TT_____TT I just about died when fifty people came around the corner, all a part of the Manimeet, and decided to join us at MoC. I felt rather horrible telling them all to rack off, but godDAMN there was a lot of them @_@ I can't begin to imagine what it would've been like had we been inside instead of outside and they all decided to rock up!

Anyways, after MoC it had turned out that they'd been hanging out at the KFC down the road, where [livejournal.com profile] pfcblogshere had been handing out helium balloons, which were soon to be inhaled at various stages throughout the day and night. The group got some photos taken at what I later found out to be a Bali memorial, before some peeps decided to go to Print Club. For once I didn't participate, content to just sit and talk with the likes of Neil, [livejournal.com profile] clydev and whomever else came to sit with us. Later some of us decided to hang out at the park outside the state library, and were soon followed by the rest of the pack. Ran around, caused havoc, the usual.

Eventually we all headed off to Erin's house, the likes of myself, [livejournal.com profile] darkyoshii, [livejournal.com profile] ashamsama, [livejournal.com profile] baorin_lee and [livejournal.com profile] yumetachi hopping on public transport to get there, then being driven down a long, winding mountain road by Erin's father. The night was filled with pizza, Family Guy and people playing video games and watching British comedies. Mostly the last two. I suppose that's why I kept falling asleep -.-;

I claimed my sleeping area on an armchair in the lounge, and slept in a rather cramped position with a lovely warm dooner for what I could have sworn to be longer than an hour. Had banana cake for breakfast and watched Puni Puni Poemi and some of X before heading into the city the next day. Brad was kind enough to buy me lunch seeing as I've been absolutley pov until today. (I got paid! w00t!) The reminants of the group hung around for a while before departing soon after catching up with [livejournal.com profile] azusachan. I went straight to bed, where I stayed for many, many hours.

SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BIG BUNCH!

Though I ceased attending over a year ago for various reasons, with two years of history in the joint, I can't help but feel shocked, yet amused, yet saddened, yet amused.
