Man, what a Saturday. Look at the date! It's taken me four days to get around to writing about it!
On Friday night Dani was kind enough to let me stay over at her place which was fun. We went over to Eastland and attempted to get free makeovers off the freaky people in Myers, but to no avail. (Though apparently I'm suited to bright colours. @_@) After a maximum of four hours sleep (Hello Manifest weekend!), we caught a lift from one of the Manifest n00bs, Kat. There were several other n00bs in the car, and we all headed off to Melbourne Zoo. We arrived long before anyone else, most of which were riding on public transport. Once inside, our little group consisting of (among others) Dani, Soraroo, Kyle, Kit and Kat. ... Oh man, I can't believe I just picked up that connection now. Must make a note to make fun of them at the next meet XD
My favourite exhibit by far was the monkeys. They're awsome! There was this one swinging around in his cage like he was Spider-Man or something! Sorrell was waving to the gorillas and Dani laughed at mental images of one of them turning around and flipping him off, which they looked just about ready to do. I had a baboon lunge at me >.> Don't laugh!
In the middle of the day we had lunch. I missed a great deal of it after we went off in search of Jess and Tina, but I was there for long enough to be attacked by my own whipped cream. (My contributions to the spread were whipped cream and cookie dough. A step up from the cornflakes and milk I took last time.)
The seals were cool too, because they made really weird noises O.o It was freaky! It was a warmish day and the water looked so inviting. I wish I could've jumped in TT______TT I think Kyle was about ready to take one of the critters home.
As luck would have it, the rain started coming down on the latter part of our tour. Thankfully our group departed not long after to the comfort of Byron's BMW, and we drove to... Lord help me... Galactic Circus. On the way there we saw some guy in a shirt with the Battle Royal logo on it. We yelled out stuff like "ZOMG, Battle Royal is awsome!", but methinks he was just one of those dudes who picked up the shirt 'cos he thought it looked cool and had no idea what BR was.
Hung out with various people there. Caught up with Tina who just happened to be there for a few games of Para Para. After that, some of our group departed for a little place in Chapel St. for reset://0's last gig. *sniff* So sad! I remember them clearly from my very first Manifest! We got there early and claimed a spot on the couch... which was stolen soon into the doors opening -.- After some rather tasty-yet-weird finger food, the band started playing and we all moved to the front and began bopping along. I saw Rebbecca there too! She'd come all the way from Sydney just to see them play!
Though they only played two songs I knew, I was exceedingly happy when I heard them. "Stay Away", the song that got me into J-rock, and "Blurry Eyes". By the end of it, I couldn't stand. It felt as though I'd been walking around on shards of glass >.< I barely had the stamina to get autographs from the band (well, I missed out on getting Brad's sig ;_;), and was reduced to sipping on a Cruiser in the back corner of the room as my feet throbbed in agony. I only had two drinks that night actually. Meh.
After stealing a poster, Byron gave me, Dani and Brad a lift home to where I could collapse into bed. Well, Rory and I ended up chatting all night again, so that was somewhat postponed. ^^;
Stayed over at Kit-chan's last night. Tai gave me a novelty balloon shaped like a male appendage, but it popped! Kenny and Mishka were also over, which was a nice suprise. It's not often I get to poke them, and it was indeed very odd seeing Kenny-kun sitting there in Kit's living room upon our return XD
