Today was awsome. Today was also a little sad.

On a whim, we decided to go up the mountain. Yup, that place I've been wanting to go to ever since I got here! It was awsome. Sorrell and Kit decided it before I got up, and Dani was quick to join in the festivities. So we went up the mountain in Sorrell's car! There were lots of pretty foresty bits, and German-looking buildings that Dad would probably love. It took us a while to get to the top, and when we did there was a $4 entry fee for cars -_-; However, that $4 was redeemable at the cafe... which was exceedingly pricey. So we got a Caramel Slice and divided it between us ^^ We looked out at the view. Of course you could easily see the city and the MCG, but such things as our houses were a little harder to pinpoint. But you could see the Great Dividing Range! I didn't know it went all the way down to Vic O.o

There was a hedgemaze... due for completion late 2005 >_> And an English garden that wasn't really Englishy, but it was a nice little spot none the less. I attempted to climb a tree. MAN I'm outta shape- a few years ago I coulda clambered up it no problems! It was probably more amusing watching me try to get down again.

So after a bit of exploration we decided to head to Emerald to visit Jaq's grandparents- those in charge of Puffing Billy, the antique train that goes up and down ye merry mountain! It was... a somewhat interesting drive across gravel and dirt. We drove for quite a while in those ranges trying to find paved road; Sorrell told us later on that there were times when he had no control of the car ^^; Good thing there was nothing to hit aside from trees and cyclists! It was a fun drive though. Very... vibratey!

After spending a bit of time at Kit's elders, we headed back to Ferntree Gully and sat on a slope in a park eating generic fish and chips-style foodstuffs, listening to Sorrells music and discussing things. I suppose the discussion of such things is what's got me feeling a little bit gloomy. But it's really nice to know that I have friends that have said they'll be there for me, whatever descisions I make.

Favourite personal quote of the day: *as I'm walking down some stairs with Sorrell and some tourists* "Ah, my natural enemy. Uh, not asians, the stairs."
