(no subject)

My mind is screaming at me to get off my ass and do something.

"DRAW! VECTOR! CREATE! You've almost finished the writing for that indie picture book you keep thinking about, get to work on some more illustrations! That guy! Yeah, the one over in Canada now. He wants you to draw some comic book or some shit... do that! Even if it fails miserably, at least you're trying to get your work out there! Pleeeeease... "

My heart wants to come out and play.

"Wow, that last pic you did was awesome! I felt so free and giddy! I know you're not one to express yourself through art, but the power to be able to create images from your head is an expression in itself! Go on... I know underneath all that shyness and "I'm not worthy" crap you have an inflated ego. Give yourself a reason for posessing it."

All this as I sit rotting away before a monitor. Classic example of a willing soul bound to weak flesh I suppose.

Dear God I fail -.-;

As I mentioned to [personal profile] sonictail a while ago, I'm completley cutting anime (and all associated conventions) out of my life. That's just not who I am anymore. Which is a shame really, because just last year I found limitless enjoyment being an obnoxious fangirl, and doing little jobs on the side for animenewsnetwork.com.au was very cool. I'd outgrown anime before I knew it, literally. Everything after around my 21st birthday was done purely out of habit. Conventions, purchases, obsessions... When for the first time in your life you've found your niece, it's hard to accept if and when you eventually grow out of it. Who would have thought Japanese cartoons could play a major role in one's life? ... Dear Christ, I'm a geek.

Meeeeeeeeeh... back to vectoring, I guess...

*laugh* niche. *hugs*

Anime is just Japanese cartoons. Perhaps you'll come back to them sometime, perhaps not. The fandom arena seems to be for teenage fangirls anyway. Understandable if you're over that. Sefie and Mon and others were expressing similar sentiments.

May I ask, if the anime fangirl is not who you are, tell us who you are now, then? Or are you still working it out? :)

Yeah, what is it with the whole teenage girls thing? Though I suppose the sphere also incooporates 30+ year old virgin males... They say that for many people, their interest in anime starts to wane after 5-7 years (yes, some freak actually conducted a study). I guess you get jaded after that point.

And as for what I am now... I am... confused XD

*gnaws*

lol Well I guess I fail the study. 10 years and going strong! What's even funnier is that my first was Pokemon and I'm still loving it and collecting the DVDs and figures. Not the new stuff though, hate the new ones. >.< BTW I was watching the ep where Team Rocket had a fake wedding to catch the Nidoran in love, and it reminded me of you and your Rocket-shipping days. lol
