Okay, found out some more info about the conference my professor wants me to show off my crap at. It's a pop culture expo with a journalism slant, the other two presenters are from somewhere in the northern hemisphere, and it's NOT going to clash with my USA plans :D However the things that caught my eye were:

1. My research will be published in an academic journal under the names of my professor and I

and

2. ZOMG THEY'RE GONNA FLY ME TO SYDNEY!!!!!!11!1!

You have to understand I have always been insanely jealous of people who get to travel as part of their duties, especially Jarrod who complains about getting flown all over the country to help out with high rated television dance programmes. I remember when I used to be a con whore and was perpetually low on cash and would gladly forefit groceries for flights and accommodation around the southern regions (do ho ho). At one point all my Christmas and birthday presents were cash towards plane tickets. So getting sent to Syd-en-y as part of my research is kind of a big thing for a cash-strapped travel bug such as myself.

It's not until June next year and I'll have to work through the summer break, which is no biggy seeing as I did summer semester last year (and will be again this year). At the moment I'm kind of freaking out because, you know, I don't consider myself academic by any stretch of the imagination (see: "If I only Had a Brain", Scare Crow) and it's just a bit of journo stuff mixed in with MY SHITTY LAME-ASS DRAWINGS. Not at all worthy of anyone's attention, but eh, like I'm going to say no to free flights.

ANYWAY.

Sunday is the High Tea Meetup for Brizzylitas, yayness! Looking forward to catching up with sexah ladies. Sadly Vampire Requiem has yet to arrive, but I managed to get my hands on Meta's Swan Lake jsk :D IMMA POPPIN' MAH PRINT CHERRY, Y'ALL! Except someone posted to the EGL comm that Meta prints run if you get caught in the rain... how the hell am I supposed to get the milky discharge off the bows D:

For reading all that bullshit, you get lulz.

Also, I am insanely jealous of you getting the Meta Swan Lake jsk. Which colourway did you get? I finally found someone willing to sell it but after some weird money being passed and refunded and stuff, I didn't end up having enough money to buy it. *fail*

On flights, we have a sales team of 15 or so who gets to fly around Australia on a weekly basis. I've been here 3 years and have never been flown anywhere.
