Lacking gonads

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I so almost got my hands on a really good story for my journalism project today about some douchebag in my class and his shitty company's dodgy practices. I was about to ask him stuff when BOOM! CRIPPLING STOMACH-CHURNING RIB CAGE-STABBING MIGRANE-INDUCING SOCIAL ANXIETY! I left without saying a word to him and on the verge of throwing up.

I think it had something to do with the fact that we were in a creative writing tute and had just had a story writing exercise. I would've been happy to ask him before that exercise but I think it messed with my perfection complex and so on. Ugh. Maybe I'll get to prod him next week, but until then I have been watching this repeatedly to try and comfort myself TT___TT

Wait... this sounds like a call for using non-digital mediums. YOU CRAZY, WOMAN

Wowwwww. Maybe that's it. Yknow I always felt digital as very constrictive for some reason!? Even though you can undo and undo.. Sketching IRL is like, more casual. less pressure? o_o

also I just lost the image i was working on just then. fecking computer. T_T

Oh I agree entirely, digital art just feels unnatural and restrictive. It's not the same as getting down and dirty with a 6B and shading the fuck out of something before killing it with coloured pencils. Or my personal favourite- copious amounts of black ink applied liberally with a brush. Damn you woman, you're making me swoon like a schoolgirl!

You wouldn't happen to know if there's any cheap life drawing classes in the region would you?

Inkkkkk, fun. I suck at it though :O

I imagine there's a lot? My 2d media class is doing life drawing next week or week after though.. maybe you could tag along.. xD

And nah it was only like 15 min sketch I was doing for a reference for the make up artist I'm going to work with on my experimental film (hopefully)~

Meh, will prolly be at Uni- post some nekkid chicks on LJ for me :D There used to be these awesome life drawing classes with a burlesque theme in the valley of a night time. I wonder if they still exist.

Good luck with your experimental film... I hope your computer doesn't devour your work again. What a kick in the gonads :(

Also, yikes! What happened with your pic? Please don't tell me you'd spent like 8 hours on it TT_____TT

[identity profile] vysanthe.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
oh also btw did you happen to be at the convention centre today at anna bligh/springborg's debate? The MC said UQ journalism students were there. I was working. There was like a two hour gap between lunch and dessert, and half the people buggered off before dessert arrived so we had like 250 extra -_- Parfait in sponge with meringue, strawberry/compote and mint. Nyummmyyyy.

[identity profile] friezaess.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
No, I wasn't there. I didn't know about it- I should be more on the ball with these things >_> (Probably 3rd years anyways.)

Aw, I wants Parfait! OM NOM NOM!
